After 6,000+ trips to Logan, and thousands more in Metrowest, New England, even North Carolina, I’ve seen a lot…here are a few true stories
- Cop Fear—I was assaulted by a MA State Trooper for pointing to the curb where I intended to let my passenger off. Case pending…
- My Other Car’s a Mercedes—A gentleman at Cumby’s in Worcester wanted me to be his drug runner in NYC
- Poor Banker—Stopped at TD Bank in Worcester, where they had an armed guard, but not $550 in cash for withdrawal
- Walking On Sunshine on i84—Spent two hours at a standstill after a multi-car pile-up. My Indian passengers stayed in the car, but I went for a midsummer party! We were late to NJ, but I got a big tip.
- Angry Young Man—A few months back, a man driving a truck from an auto dealership was tailgating me something fierce on Route 20 in Sudbury. I slowed down as I always do, and when he passed me he challenged me to a fight! Amazing people out there…
- No Red Wine! Took four lovely ladies to Worcester, and their soft cooler with red wine turned my grey carpet a nice dark red!
- Civic pride almost landed me in jail when a litterer press charges!
- I fumbled my client’s Visa and it landed inside my emergency brake. I had to go to my dealer to get it back. I overnighted it to my client.
- One summer I drove a family to Logan, for their trip to California, and the Mom forgot her license. After considering a stop at the bank for the safe deposit box (too early!), the husband rebooked her, and she went back to the house, and found her ID in her car. After a quick breakfast we made it to Logan Express, and she was off to join her family. They never got upset.
- Recently I picked up a Random Guy at South Station and drove him to the courthouse in Worcester (nothing good happens there). He stiffed me for the $115 fare, but I was smart enough to get collateral. Anyone need a Go Pro camera?
- Just the other day, Judy and family got in my suv at 4:50am to go to Cancun, and they were nice enough to give me a squash and carrots!
- I’ve been losing clients to old age. I miss Bonnie, Francine, Marc, Herb, and Leon. Now I’ve lost two to Covid. Rest in peace George and Josh.
My life as a driver is never dull.
